Selection Process

GGCL Selection Process

From Streets to Stardom

At Gali Gali Cricket League (GGCL), we believe every kid with a bat and a dream deserves a platform. Our selection process is designed to discover raw talent from every street, give players structured exposure, and guide them toward higher levels of competitive cricket.

Step

01

Open Registration & Street Tryouts

Who can participate

Cricket lovers of all ages and backgrounds from communities, lanes, and small towns are invited to register. Trials are open-to-all — no prior club affiliation required.

What happens:

Players sign up via our Registration Portal, attend local street tryouts, and showcase their batting, bowling, and fielding skills in real-game situations. Our experienced local coaches and talent scouts assess players based on performance, technique, fitness, attitude, and cricketing passion.

Why it matters:

This grassroots stage ensures that raw talent gets recognized irrespective of formal background — bringing hidden heroes into the spotlight.

02

Community League Matches

Selected players move into community-level matches, where they play organized 6-overs/8-overs games representing their streets or neighborhood teams.

These matches:

  • Promote healthy competition
  • Build match temperament
  • Allow selectors to evaluate consistency and cricket IQ

Performance here determines who advances to zonal and broader GGCL events

Zonal Trials & Talent Identification Camps

Top performers from community games are invited to Zonal Camps where

  • Coaches conduct skill drills
  • Players are evaluated in batting under pressure, bowling accuracy, fielding agility, and match awareness
  • Fitness and attitude assessments help identify those ready for advanced competition

Players demonstrating both skill and discipline are shortlisted for GGCL Elite Squads.
