Introduction
At Gali Gali Cricket League (GGCL), we are committed to nurturing cricket talent with the highest standards of integrity, fairness, and transparency. This Prevention of Malpractices Code defines unethical and prohibited conduct within GGCL competitions and sets out the principles, obligations, and consequences designed to protect the credibility of our league and the spirit of the game.
1. Scope & Application
This Prevention of Malpractices Code applies to all participants in GGCL, including:
- Players
- Team Officials
- Coaches, Support Staff and Referees
- League Administrators and Volunteers
Everyone involved with GGCL must comply with this Code at all times, during matches, trials, events, and related activities, whether on or off the field.
2. What Is a Malpractice?
A malpractice is any action or conduct that undermines the fairness or integrity of GGCL competitions. This includes, but is not limited to:
2.1 Match-Fixing and Spot-Fixing
- Any attempt to manipulate the outcome of a match or specific match events.
- Agreements with third parties to influence performance outcomes for financial or other gain.
2.2 Betting & Gambling
- Participants are strictly prohibited from betting on GGCL matches or leagues.
- Engagement in gambling that creates a conflict of interest or a perception of impropriety is not allowed.
2.3 Corruption & Unethical Conduct
- Accepting, offering, or soliciting bribes, gifts, or inducements to alter performance or decisions.
- Sharing inside information that could affect match outcomes or competitive integrity. (icc)
3. Reporting Malpractices
GGCL encourages all participants to promptly report any suspicious, unethical, or rule-breaking activities. Reports may be submitted through:
- Confidential reporting channels provided by GGCL
- Direct communication with GGCL Integrity Officers
All reports are handled securely, and GGCL ensures confidentiality and protection against retaliation for good-faith reports.
4. Investigation & Disciplinary Process
Upon receiving a malpractice complaint, GGCL will:
- Conduct a thorough investigation.
- Involve independent panels or Integrity Officers when needed.
- Cooperate with law enforcement and cricket governing bodies for serious violations.
Participants must cooperate fully with all investigations and proceedings.
5. Sanctions & Penalties
Individuals found guilty of malpractices may face one or more of the following penalties:
- Suspension from GGCL activities
- Fines or monetary penalties
- Permanent exclusion from the league
- Reporting to external cricket authorities or legal agencies for enforcement
The severity of the penalty depends on the nature and frequency of the violations.
6. Education & Awareness
GGCL conducts regular awareness programs to educate players, officials, and staff on:
- Identifying potentially unethical approaches
- Recognizing conflict-of-interest scenarios
- Understanding penalties for malpractice
These sessions promote a culture of integrity and help participants make informed, ethical choices.

8. Code Review & Amendments
GGCL reserves the right to amend this Prevention of Malpractices Code as needed, to reflect changes in legal frameworks, cricket governance standards, or integrity best practices.
