1. Name
The name of this organization shall be Gali Gali Cricket League (GGCL), hereafter referred to as “the League.” GGCL is a grassroots cricket league dedicated to discovering, nurturing, and elevating raw cricket talent from local communities across India.
2. Objectives
The objectives of GGCL are to:
- Promote the sport of cricket at the community and grassroots levels.
- Create structured opportunities for players who lack access to mainstream cricket pathways.
- Encourage fair play, sportsmanship, and cricketing excellence.
- Provide visibility and recognition to talented players from every street, lane, and neighbourhood.
3. Membership
3.1 Eligibility
Membership in the League is open to:
- Cricket teams registered through the official GGCL platform.
- Individual players selected through trials or approved recruitment channels.
- Sponsors, officials, and other stakeholders who support league objectives.
3.2 Registration
All teams and players must complete the official registration process.
Membership is subject to compliance with the League's rules and conduct policies.
4. Governance
4.1 Governing Bodies
GGCL shall be governed by the following bodies:
- Executive Committee: Responsible for strategic decisions and overall administration.
- Match Committee: Oversees fixtures, scheduling, and competition logistics.
- Disciplinary Committee: Reviews violations of conduct and enforces penalties.
4.2 Powers
Each governing body shall have authority as outlined in these constitution sections and subsequent terms of reference.
5. Executive Committee
5.1 Composition
The Executive Committee shall consist of designated league administrators and representatives of participating teams or partner organizations.
The Committee shall set league-wide policies and long-term strategy.
5.2 Roles & Responsibilities
- Approve league formats, schedules, and major changes.
- Establish committees and delegate responsibilities.
- Oversee sponsorship agreements and branding decisions.
6. Match and Technical Committee
6.1 Duties
- Organize match schedules and venue assignments.
- Review and implement playing rules in line with recognized cricket standards.
- Ensure safety protocols and fairness in all competitions.
7. Disciplinary & Code of Conduct
7.1 Standards of Conduct
All participants, including players, officials, and team staff must:
- Respect opponents, referees, and spectators.
- Avoid abusive behaviour, discrimination, or actions detrimental to the spirit of cricket.
7.2 Disciplinary Actions
Violations of conduct may result in warnings, suspensions, fines, or expulsion from the League.
The Disciplinary Committee shall conduct fair reviews, and decisions shall be final.
8. Rules & Regulations
GGCL shall abide by established cricket norms and adopt specific competition rules as determined annually by the League. This includes:
- Match formats (e.g., T20, limited overs)
- Player eligibility standards
- Team substitution and injury protocols
9. Amendments to Constitution
Amendments to this Constitution may be proposed by the Executive Committee or through a process defined by league governance policies. Changes require approval by a majority vote of eligible governing members.
10. Jurisdiction
This Constitution and all league activities are governed by applicable laws of India. Disputes arising under this Constitution shall be subject to appropriate legal resolution within Indian jurisdiction.
11. Interpretation
The interpretation of this Constitution rests solely with the Executive Committee. Any ambiguities shall be resolved in favour of promoting fairness, integrity, and the objectives of GGCL.
